Yesterday it was a pretty cold day. I even wore my winter t-shirt. That was a little too much. Nice run though.

We stayed in a new hotel, in Santa Clara this time. Not sure I want to do that again -- it was quite far to the office -- but there was a nice trail nearby (San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail) that led to the baylands.

The guys are now three months old, so we've made it through the hectic first quarter of life with them.

The boys are getting more adorable by the day. They smile, they coo and they follow us intently with their eyes, especially Sasha.

They are sleeping better and better, and recently going to bed is getting easier also, which is great for everybody. Almost exactly three months ago I wrote: I woke up at 5.00 am but told myself this would be the last full night in a loooong time so I went back to sleep. That was true, especially the first six weeks or so. Thankfully we now get pretty good nights of sleep. Not every night yet, but they often go to bed around 11.00 am wake up between 6.00 am and 7.00 am which is excellent.

We went to the library's truckday yesterday morning, or vrachtwagendag in Dutch.

Nora was still a little tired from her cold but she enjoyed seeing the trucks from the safety of my arms. The boys slept well.

Once at home Nora retreated to her blocks and toys to spend some time by herself. Then she told us she liked it -- especially seeing the garbage truck.

The boys had their first cold. Nora's cold started on Saturday night, and though we tried to keep her and the boys apart, they started coughing a few days later. They had some fever also, but thankfully the symptoms were pretty mild.

The kids have now recovered, and Sasha and I had a light version of the cold but it's getting better also.

Last Saturday we took the car, all five of us, and went to buy flowers for on the deck.

On Sunday Sasha and Nora planted petunias. Nora enjoyed playing with the soil, transferring it from the bag to a pot and then another pot...

This is book number three I read in preparation for the 2016 Presidential Elections.

Mike Huckabee is an interesting figure and with this book I got to know him better as a person. He is a pretty smart guy and even though I don't agree with some of his philosophy, he is likeable and I was surprised to see that there are actually quite a few areas where we agree.

Interestingly, both Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee are very much against the current implementation of the TSA and both called for it to be privatized -- they basically want the airlines to take responsibility for security screening, with the understanding that airlines have more incentives to be customer friendly.

I found myself liking Huckabee. I still think his policies are the wrong ones, and I'm glad he won't be our President, but this book made me like him better than I expected.

Huckabee doesn't really seem to be interested in running for President. From reading this book it feels as if he is missing the drive, the passion.

It was warm and humid last night. I went for a run at 5.00 pm. Slept very well.

Yesterday I brought Nora to my work for the official Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. My firm organized various nice events in our offices around the country, and there were a lot of kids in my office.

Big kids were welcome all day and had a nice program, but that would have been too much for Nora. So she spent a fun hour and a half with me and my co-workers and then we went for lunch together.

The highlight? A balloon she got from a co-worker, haha.
