Nora is growing fast and wants to do everything herself: switching on the light, closing her shoes, filling her cup with water. If we by accident do those for her she gets upset and wants us to undo it so she can do it herself.

The best way of getting her to do something is saying: oh, Nora can't do that. She will insist to prove you wrong.

If I said "Ik ben twee en ik zeg..." she would answer "Nee!" Now she is cheeky and says: "Drie!"

It is cute to see that she is also still a baby (as she insists she is sometimes). When we drove back from Secaucus she didn't want to sleep. The solution? We put a blanket over her car seat, blocking her view. She fell asleep in 5 minutes.

I ran just before Nora's play date with Eli. Day after I went to Jersey City.

The Zanes left on Sunday morning. In the evening we went to the National Mall to see the monuments.

It was the first time that Nora saw the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool.

This weekend we were in Secaucus so I didn't run, and I did my long run tonight. 7.3 miles, not as much as my previous long run but long enough in this hot weather to wipe me out! Feels good though. Then a haircut afterwards and a shopping trip to Whole Foods.

Nora is having a great time with her grandparents.

Here she is with Dyado, who is reading her a new book.

Nice run.

Run after work but changed the timestamp on this entry so it falls within June (timezone weirdness due to the server being in the Netherlands).

I ran with Nora today, after work. It had been a while. It's tough in the heat! Fun to run with her although halfway she started getting bored.

It's been a while since I ran to DC, don't think I've done that from Lynnbrook yet. It was less warm than earlier in the week and the run went well. Of course, the last additional mile is always the hardest, and in this route that was entirely up-hill, haha.

I added a few hundred yards to my run today by taking 16th Street instead of General's Way on my way back. General's Way is always full with school buses.
