Another nice day of studying. Finishing the assignment the teacher gave me, to decode a message with a BCH code that contains 3 errors. Looking now for a 'nice' message, that won't interfere with the given error-pattern ('last 3 bits turn 1'). Will be going to bed soon. Tomorrow two big other subjects: data compression and complexity. Pfff...

Found a website (here) that has a number of BCH generator polynoms. Spoke to Joanna by MSN; that instant messaging is a nice thing.

Found some really good tutorials on Coding theory, the best is this one.

Working on a paper for university, Human Computer Interaction. If the teacher accepts my synopsis (I hope so, because I started already!) it will be about Visual Program Languages and if they help the programmer. I just found out that we can't vote tomorrow in Haarlem! I called the municipal because we didn't get a letter about the elections; turns out on January 22th they've made a list of people living in Haarlem... and we moved 1st of February. I could vote in Amsterdam though, but can't really be bothered anymore now.

Just saw a protest-parade with driving organs; some protest against closing of the museum. More than 30 of them I think, quite noisy but nice.

Turns out my lectures start only next week... and I thought I was missing my first ones already :) I'll have to stay here pretty late tonight I'm afraid.

Writing documentation now, all the computers in the VU are taken (there are only 9 available!). Anyway. Maybe I'll stay here tonight (they're open till 11) or come here tomorrow evening. Alex went for her "first schoolday" today, but I will wait till next week (first finishing the project).

Wow, found a big bug in my first exercise ("msglog") -- the device read returns the number of records, not the number of bytes (as it is supposed to do). Hope that was the biggest one.

Yes, a bit disappointing (the test results from yesterday), but at least half of the things work... I'm not gonna do the test though, I really need a break. But now some happy news!
