De Petteflet offers lessons in Dutch language and culture as a supplement to local American education. Classes meet in Broomfield, Colorado, on Wednesday afternoons for 2.5 hours. In addition we organize cultural days such as a traditional Sinterklaas celebration and a queen’s day flea market (vrijmarkt), as well as an annual camping trip in June. By attending the Dutch classes, children will be prevented from falling behind in the Dutch language when returning to The Netherlands or Belgium or if they later decide to continue higher education in these countries.
