Ernst van de Wetering, head of the Rembrandt Research Project in Amsterdam, is the world’s leading authority on the often-contentious issue of Rembrandt painting attributions. Professor Van de Wetering discusses his approach to attributions and related topics through the lens of an artist, scientist, and art historian

The Docents of the North Carolina Museum of Art offer a free public lecture by artists, critics, or scholars. Professor Van de Wetering is the 20th guest speaker in this series. The Docent Lecture Endowment provides funds for these lectures and has grown primarily from gifts made by the docents themselves.
