"My name is Nakita, and I am "The Dutch Lady". I was born in South Limburg, the Netherlands and raised in Maastricht, Holland, the home of the European Congress. I spent several years in Bruge, Belgium, learning about lace and textiles from many of Europe's finest artisans. I opened by shop, Nakita's Stickereien, in Heidelberg, Germany nearly ten years ago. People from around the world came to the shop everyday. Although I closed the shop in November, 2003 and moved to Washington, D.C., I knew I wanted to open a new shop in my new country, and opened The Dutch Lady."
