This is our 8th annual Queen's Day celebration in San Diego! The Dutch Meetup Group, NLBorrels and the Dutch School of San Diego celebrate together on Sunday April 29th, The group joining in to party tends to be bigger and more fun each year! This is a great time to WEAR ORANGE, play games, eat and socialize with other ‘Dutchies’ and friends.
We had such a good time last year at the home of our hosts, Jack and Jill Nooren, that they invited us back to celebrate Queen's Day in La Jolla.
Please come with the whole family! We have lots of activities organized for the kids; a “rommelmarkt” (a flea market for the kids to sell/exchange their toys and stuff, and adults may bring their stuff too :)), typical Dutch games such as ‘koekhappen’, ‘eierlopen’, ‘grabbelton’ ($1 each to find a prize!), ‘spijkerpoepen’, ‘beschuitfluiten’ and many more! There will be a bouncy castle, a trampoline, and space for a soccer match! The Dutch School in San Diego (DSLA) www.dutchschoolla.org will have a stand as well!
It will be a casual Potluck/BBQ party for everyone to participate in! Come and go as you like! You can park on the street. Paper plates, plastic utensils and cups, table covers and napkins WILL be made available. What can you do?
* Bring your families.
* Bring a food dish to share (your favorite Dutch or orange food)!
* BYO drinks!
* We will have a BBQ grill going so bring your favorite BBQ meat, if you like.
* Bring (kids) stuff to sell/exchange and a blanket for the "Rommel markt"!
* Bring your own beach or folding chairs.
* Join in on singing the Dutch National Anthem “Het Wilhelmus” at 3 PM! :)
* Bring your iPod with your favorite Dutch music on it!
* Have a sweater just in case, and SUNSCREEN.
* Bring some cash to buy raffle tickets ($1 each, on the day of) with great prizes to win such as gift baskets filled with Dutch products and more!

Please contribute to our Dutch Community in San Diego by donating at the Queen's Day celebration! We will have a container for your donation to go into. The money will be used to keep up this website and pay for the fees and to cover costs made for the Queen's Day celebration.
