Here's a picture of Adrian and Nora having a picnic this morning. She fed him a 'cheese sandwich', gave him to drink from an empty cup and then gently wiped his mouth.

The boys are starting to vocalize and practice the sounds of talking. They can both says "mama" and sometimes other sounds. This morning I read Leo a Nijntje book and I was pretty sure he said "Nijn" a few times afterwards.

Leo woke up at 5.30 am and I awoke from a deep dream. His nosed was stuffed so I cleaned it and then Sasha fed him. He fell asleep but we were both awake.

The run was a little slower than usual, I felt my legs tired. Probably the cold ("cold number 5") that is bothering me.

The fifth cold after Nora started pre-K is now mostly behind us. This was a particular nasty one, and I still don't feel 100% but it's the aftermath, no longer the main event.

It was good to be on the road again.

With this run I surpassed the 358 miles mark for this year. That was the lowest I've ever run (2010, in New Jersey) since I started seriously tracking my mileage. A nice milestone, given the born of Leo and Adrian this year. Another 19 miles to go to meet the next target: surpassing the mileage in the year Nora was born. We'll see.

What a wonderful day. Nora was bouncing off the walls from excitement yesterday and this morning and finally, at 11.00 am, we left for the Embassy.

We were welcomed by four Pieten -- Nora immediately wanted to hug me and hid herself in my shoulders. But a minute later, after discussing the prospect of pepernoten, she gracefully accepted a handful of the Dutch cookies and we went inside.

The ceremony was the same as last year, and as always very well organized. Sinterklaas arrived, spoke a few words with the Ambassador and then made his way to the reception room. Nora went on stage with Sinterklaas all by herself and she had a long chat with the Goedheiligman. It's great to see how she isn't shy. She received a nice gift: a tractor and a Dutch book.
