On Sunday, April 25, 2010 the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Miami
will organize the second Orange Bike Parade in Coconut Grove.

The Orange Bike Parade will be part of the Bike Miami Days during which streets will be closed off for traffic, so everyone can safely bike, walk, run, and skate.

Firth Haring Fabend will present a PowerPoint program on April 24 at the Annual Meeting of the Friends of Lindenwald.

The public is invited. Her topic is: "Patroons and Plowmen, Politics and Pietism: Dutch Settlers in the Hudson Valley in the Eighteenth Century."

It will be held at 12 noon at Kozel's Restaurant on Route 9H in Ghent. Lindenwald, in nearby Kinderhook, NY, is a National Historic Site, the home of Sixth U.S. President Martin Van Buren (the first President of non-English background).

It took a lot of mental trickery to get myself to run. I went to the supermarket after work. I wasn't until I left the supermarket around 7 that I started thinking: 'well, maybe, really, I should go for a run'. When I was home I was so happy that I started preparing for a run. Really tricked myself into it. Feels absolutely great now, and ran a great time, 31:23. Yay!
