I've said it before -- Adrian can really take a liking to things he sees, and then he wants to grab them. That works fine for toys: he'll get 'angry' until he has the toy in his hands. He especially likes the blue "Happy Birthday" balloon. Yesterday I asked him, "waar is de ballon" and he immediately turned towards the balloon, pretty cool.

The other day Lelya Snezha told me that Adrian's high chair was looking towards the backyard and he got excited -- it turned out he really want to hold... the two doves outside. Yesterday in the playground he had his mind set on a big beach ball that was in another stroller at the other side of the playground.

Nora's 4 year checkup went well. She's healthy and happy.

She had some trouble with the eye tests which we'll follow up on with her ophthalmologist. She couldn't see the "stereo" letter.

There were a few more shots Nora for she didn't cry. From now on she'll only need her annual flu shot until she's ten years old.

A week ago the power supply of our server died and it took part of of the hard disk with it. Jaap did an amazing job -- he bought the new server and using a USB stick with the OpenBSD installation media he set up the new server, including partitions and filesystems.

So now we're on OpenBSD 5.8. In the process I switched to Apache 2.4.16 (instead of the custom build of the old Apache 1.x that OpenBSD used to maintain), and from MySQL to MariaDB. The site is now back up and running, with some minor tweaks to be done. The pink error messages will go away.

Nora used her high chair for about two years. I had always wondered about the straps -- Nora never needed them. Well, last week we learned what they are for: Leo mananged to stand up straight in his chair, and started crawling over his table towards the big table.

So from now on he'll be strapped in.

Nora turned 4 years old today.

Note: I wrote this article a few months later, due to the server outage we had in February.

Nora started reading books all by herself. She likes the series "Pol" -- books I used to read when I was little.

Nora doesn't actually read the text yet but enjoys watching the pictures.

Our street tonight.

The Federal Government is still closed -- not surprising given that there were people skiing on our street today.

We had a great snow day today. I shoveled in the evening so we had a nice path on the deck and in the front to our neighbors.

When the boys were in bed we went outside and cleaned the deck and made more paths in the snow on Lynnbrook. Ginny came over, and we chatted with many of our other neighbors too.

We tried to make a snowman but the snow was to powdery and wouldn't stick. Nora had a good time anyway, climbing on the snow mountains and collecting big chunks of snow. There's so much snow in our backyard that she sled from the higher part to the lower part with me.

Nora's school is closed tomorrow and Tuesday.

Last night I re-shoveled the path we made during the day, and in the morning it was still there.

"Vandaag is het een hele special dag. Vandaag gaan we een sneeuwpop maken!"
